The World Of Situational Sitcoms
A situational comedy, often referred to as a sitcom, is known as a genre of television comedy. They are becoming more popular that you will rarely find anybody who does not have a favourite one.
The real life stories behind sitcoms have made them engaging and amusing. People like following sitcom stories as they do enjoy following the stories of their favourite artists acting in an everyday setting such as a flat or an office. Insight into the daily routine of these well-rounded, real characters is all part of the excitement.
In my opinion, there are enough TV shows for all people to find a sitcom which suits their interests. A valid point to consider is why the sitcoms are popular in lots of different parts of the world. First of all, think about Marshall McLuhan’s idea that sees the whole world as a village. People are from different countries with various cultures but they are still interested in the same subjects and like to watch the same tv shows.
Another reason behind the popularity of US TV series is that because American series have dominated the entertainment market, most people will find at least a few series which they love to watch. For instance, for fans of action series, 24 or Prison Break can be the best to watch. You might be a 21st century woman who is passionate about an independent lifestyle and consequently you may find yourself able to identify with some of the characters or situations in Sex and the City, which has been a runaway success globally. Finally, if you are a young person who has just started your career and your life is centred around your friends, I am sure you will find one of the most successful sitcoms of all time, the Friends TV seriesinteresting and engaging. It is also helpful for the health as you won’t be able to stop laughing at Chandler’s cynical sense of humour and the entertaining on-again-off-again story of Rachel and Ross’s relationship.
