Kids should enjoy being a part of practice sessions: Design your practice schedule in a way that includes a variety of drills, activities, fun-filled games and exercise so that the kids don’t feel the monotony. This can be done a lot of ways. For example: make it a ritual to allow some time after practice to let the kids indulge in games and activities so that they can relax and enjoy playing casually.

3. Discipline and freedom work best together: Discipline in the team should be a priority for you as a coach. Still, the easiest way to encourage kids to obey rules and be disciplined is that they should be freed from unnecessary control. Don’t underestimate the value of freedom and relaxation in teaching soccer.

Allow time to players in between drills to do their own things, simply relax, or share stuff among them. In preaching how to coach soccer, it is also extremely important to venture out with the kids on a picnic or an outdoor get together.

4. Maintain tolerance and support: Motivate your team to do new things and when these new things do not work out as expected, be cool about it. Keep a close watch on their activities.
