Playing the piano relaxes me. When I sit down at the piano, I know that when I get up an hour later, I’ll be rejuvenated and ready to take on (if not the world) at least the weekly ironing. But when I need more than just a ‘jump start’ on my day—-when I require solace and comfort, I take out my gospel sheet music. I lost both of my parents inside of three years, and at the funeral mom’s friend sang “The Old Rugged Cross.”Mom passed five years ago now, but on the anniversary of her death in September I sit down and play that beautiful hymn. The concept of Guardian Angels is very popular today: someone to watch over you and keep you out of harm’s way. To believe in a personal guardian angel seems very popular nowadays. Believers tell us that angels don’t always step in to help because we need to learn to handle problems for ourselves.

Is it feasible for anyone to contact his guardian angel? One way to contact them is to internally ask a question and to listen internally for the answer. Another is to visualize meeting your guardian angel and having a conversation. You may be very sceptical and wonder how you can be confident your guardian angel is really there when you attempt to get in touch. Some reported signs of their presence are a stream of warm air, a white feather or just a sensation of internal warmth and ease.

Even if angels exist, does every single person have a guardian angel? According to ancient beliefs the answer is yes. To think that you have a guardian angel watching over you is a very comforting thought.
