Schecter’s Hellraiser Guitar Series – Part 3 – Avenger & Solo-6
Radically styled, Schecter’s Hellraiser Avenger shares the materials and crafting of the other Hellraiser models, but with its own devilish look. It is considered one of the original Diamond Series models. Its unique 2-horn style body shape is the same one used by guitar virtuoso Synyster Gates, best known as the lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. The Avenger comes as a 6-string model with hardtail, string-through body. The neck is 3-piece laminate mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. As with the rest of the Hellraiser line, 24 X-Jumbo frets and the unique horn design allows easy playability on the top frets. The active EMG 81-TW/89 humbuckers amplify the sound.
The Solo-6 is modeled after the Les Paul body shape, but with its own special style. It’s a little bit offset in its symmetry, with a few more sexy curves and some decent changes to the overall shape which give it a unique and mischevious look. The Hellraiser Solo-6 is based on the time-honored Les Paul construction formula of high grade mahogany body, maple top, set mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, but it adds several upgrades such a quilted cap for the Black Cherry finish, abalone purfling and gothic cross fingerboard inlays. The neck also has a longer 25 1/2–inch scale, 24 Extra Jumbo frets to let you hit notes good ole’ uncle Les never even thought of back in the 50’s, a deep contoured cutaway and a wide, flat neck profile. For the ultimate metal sound, add a set of EMG active 81-TW/89 pickups and you know this baby was born to kill. The Solo-6’s high quality anodized locking tuners from Schecter ensures your notes stay in tune, and the Tune-O-Matic thru body bridge lets them last until the world comes to an end.
