Every Person Has An Chief Source Of Authority And A Code To Live By
Part 8. Every person has an chief source of authority, whether consciously or unconsciously, and the authority of the Christian Church is the Bible – God’s Word. There are quite a few churches who won’t accept this and they teach an weak and tardy Christianity. There are churches who preach a form of Christianity but there is no life or true reality – just Sunday Christians, as it says in 2 Timothy 3
2nd Tim. three:one to fifteen “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For people will be lovers of themselves ,….lovers of pleasure as opposed to lovers of God, having a sort of godliness but denying its power. And from such people, you should steer clear of.”
I often tell people I talk to, “Christianity is often not what we’ve been told it is; forget the do’s & don’ts and the traditions”. Christianity is about something alive and new – when a person lives their life with God as ‘the Boss’, it changes them.
Many people say “Oh yes I’m a Christian” and as I observe their life-style I wonder upon what basis they can really say this, because they do not live a thing like what Jesus told us to. Yet they said they are a disciple of Him, or in other words call themself a Christian.
‘A Christian‘ is one, who is one, and not simply somebody who tells us they are one. If I was to declare long and loud that I was an American, it signifies nothing, I am still Australian; yet this is what many do – thinking themselves to be a Christian when they’re by no means, they have not done what was necessary to be one. If you don’t concure with, and honor, the rules of any club, you will not be accepted in. I mean, what is a Christian if we do not follow the Book – Bible, that tells us what they are?
Romans two:thirteen For it is not merely knowing what God needs of us that brings God’s approval.
People who obey God’s requirements will be declared acceptable by God. You are not a ‘Christian’ till you actively do something, for example a commitment or pledge to God that is permanent. Not just attending church on Sundays.
If every person has an prime source of influence as with a value system as revealed thoughout contemporary along with Scriptural history in that case Neil Baulch says if God is going to be that Origin, then make it authentic.
