The Bristol Palin Dancing With The Stars Debut — Not Bad
This year is already tipped as the Palin “Dancing with the Stars” season. Her presence on the show probably has less to do with anything Bristol has actually done than the fact that Sarah Palin is her mother. For a seemingly token addition, Bristol managed to do a quite decent job. The nature of the show is that celebrities dance for points. The spring season had plenty of star power, and so does the fall season. That said, some of the additions seemed a little odd. Not each contestant really has a background in normal avenues to celebrity, like acting or sports. That said, it should be entertaining.
Palin in the middle of the pack
Though anything Palin gets attention seemingly regardless of merit at times, the first Bristol Palin “Dancing with the Stars” regimen was really not too bad. Florence Henderson and Bristol Palin tied, according to CNN, with each scoring an 18 of 30. As for the rest of the scores, Margaret Cho, David Hasselhoff and Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino all failed to get higher than a 15. Michael Bolton scored a 16. Audrina Partridge from “The Hills” scored a 19. So did Kurt Warner. Rick Fox, a previous NBA star, scored a 22. Kyle Massey, a teen actor from a number of Disney shows, garnered an amazing 23, as did vocalist Brandy. Brandy actually gets a reunion of sorts, as she and Hasselhoff were both judges on “America’s Got Talent” However, who the winner was going to be was never in doubt.
Baby nevertheless can’t be put in a corner
Never mind any famous offspring; Jennifer Grey is on the show and that means that “Dirty Dancing” is going to get brought up. The film launched the careers of Grey and Patrick Swayze. Her character was unimaginatively named Baby, however that is where the famous line “no one puts Baby in a corner” comes from The Jennifer Grey “Dancing with the Stars” role is likely to boost ratings from followers of the film interested in seeing if one of the primary cast members nevertheless has her dancing chops. It turns out Grey does, as she and partner Derek Hough scored 24 out of 30 for the win.
This year really should be good
Each season of “DWTS” causes a large buzz. This year should be the very same. Some of the stars on this season’s cast have real talent for dancing. That said, it is a celebrity-reality show. A big part of it is parading people around, like show dogs, that the public has become interested in for some reason.
