Who Doesn’t Love Donald Duck?

With all the success and media attention surrounding the 3d films made by the likes of Pixar and Dreamworks it is easy to forget the hand drawn cartoons and films of yesteryear.  If you ask anyone who grew up before the early 90s it is highly unlikely that you will find someone who hasn’t heard of Donald Duck.  The grumpy duck crafted by the Disney Animation company must be one of the best loved cartoon characters of all time.

Older fans may not realise that Donald’s full name is in fact Donald Fauntleroy Duck, a moniker which is rarely alluded to in the cartoons.  For viewers who are too young to remember some of Disney’s classic characters, Donald was a white Duck who stood upright i n a human fashion and had an orange beak, feet and legs.  Comically, he was usually to be found walking round wearing a sailor’s shirt along with a cap and bow tie.  Despite having gone to such trouble with the rest of his outfit, Donald Duck didn’t seem to have found the time to put his trousers on in the morning.  Whereas most of the Disney animation company’s creations were warm and cuddly characters, Donald Duck stood out mainly due to his wild mood swings which varied from warm compassion one minute to blind rage and frustration the next.  It was arguably his personality which saw him rated as the third most popular animated cartoon character of all time, with only Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse being more popular.

Donald Duck first appeared on film on 9th June 1934 in a cartoon called the Wise Little Hen.  This is the date to which his birthday was originally credited, however around a decade later in a cartoon called the Three Caballeros his birthday was referenced as being on the 13th March 1942.  Apparently this date was chosen as it was a Friday 13th which was supposed to contribute to the bad luck which constantly befell our favourite duck.

Donald’s star rose throughout the 1930s and 40s to the point where he won his first film Academy Award in 1942 for a film called Der Fuhrer’s Face which satirized the Nazi Germany of the day.  He was so popular back in these early days that he appeared in more films than Mickey Mouse.

One of the most notable characteristics about Donald Duck was his high tempered, quacking, nasal voice.  For all his years, the voice of Donal Duck had always been done by a voice artist named Clarence Nash all the way up to 1985 when he sadly died.  Since then Donald’s voice has been provided by Ront Anselmo who was specially trained by Clarence so that he could take on the role.

Later cartoons introduced the audience to Donald Duck’s extended family – including his nephews Huey, Louie and Dewey and their rich Uncle Scrooge.  Donald’s success was not limited to the boundaries of an animation company.  As computer games became more and more popular throughout the 1990s Donald Duck and is Disney pals started to appear in their own series of highly successful console games, bringing them to a new generation of children to be enjoyed for years to come.

Reality TV Has Endless Fans

Tila Tequila is one of the many famous fact queens who’ve brought squabble to the scene with her life of substances, drinking, and gangs, as well as her pregnancy scares and miscarriages. She gained celebrity in the actuality world in 2008 with her show “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” where she not only had men fight for her love, but also had lesbian girls attempt to win her love too. She lately suffered a tragedy when her fiance, Casey Johnson, suddenly died in Jan 2010.

But the name Tila Tequila always appears to be followed by sex, whether or not it is a sex tape or her attempt at the adult industry. Yet, oddly enough, she says that she pushes safe sex and announces stars like Heidi Montag are sending a bad message to girls. She looks to be trying to get the notice of anybody she can by saying anything she can, if it is true or not.

Sasha Grey is another example of someone who would like to be in the media attention. A known adult entertainment star, Sasha Grey is now trying to get into the world of conventional entertainment. It is tricky to say whether she would like to get out of the adult business or not. But she knows a similar thing that Tila Tequila knows: sex sells. Whether it’s a sex scandal, another adult flick, a pregnancy alert, or merely living a boogying lifestyle, they understand that whatever they do will be in the media.

There are those that hate Tila Tequila, love her, or both love and hate her. The same applies for Sasha Grey. They won’t be the best resource to go to for sex tips, but you can’t read a magazine or watch celebrity news without hearing their names.

Tila Tequila, apart from being a reality star, also promotes herself as a vocalist, although the majority tune in for her scandals rather than to hear her sing. With Sasha Grey, she’s attempting to get more into precise acting rather than just doing adult films, but people who know her as an adult film star will have a hard time taking her seriously in more conventional entertainment roles. And, almost all of her roles have a sexual nature to them. But one thing can be said about both these ladies; they love attention and will do just about anything to draw attention. Just make absolutely certain not to take their love tips or life tips seriously.

Many Celebs Wear Sunglasses

There are many Celebrities out there that love to wear their sunglasses all of the time and although sometimes the Aviator sunglasses look pretty cool a lot of the time they just look stupid. These are just some of the many famous people that love their sunglasses.

Lady GaGa

Stefani Germanotta or Lady GaGA is always seen wearing crazy looking sunglasses but is there a reason behind all of this? Fashion is actually a big influence to Lady GaGa and she is also influenced by brilliant musicians such as Queen, Bowie and the legendary Bowie. Every outfit she has worn seems to be a bit out there and the press love it. She loves to be a bit different and wearing all kinds of crazy sunglasses like ray bans

Britney Spears

Britney is quite often seen wearing sunglasses in the middle of the night but the real question is, why on earth is this done? The media attention that she is always getting could be one of the reasons behind it all. When all of the press are taking their photos the flashes must be pretty bad. As well as this sunglasses are a great way to hide those tired baggy eyes.

Bono

He has to be the most fmaous person for wearing his sunglasses. Bono is behind the successful U2. I first thought that Bono wore the glasses as part of the look but it would seem like his reasoning is actually because if someone takes his photo his eyes will swell up. He even admits that its part vanity, part privacy and part sensitivity.

So there you have it really, just some of the many celebrities that you could well see wearing their favourite wayfarer.

Next time you go out wearing sunglasses the chances of you getting mowed down by the press are slim but hey, the sunglasses look is cool right?
