The famous diamond wedding ring owned by Marilyn Monroe is up for auction. Prominent auction house Profiles in History declared that the platinum ring will be part of its collection and is going to be offered for auction from December 15th to December 17. Based on a UPI.com report, Monroe wore this breathtaking platinum diamond wedding ring during her marriage to baseball star Joe DiMaggio in 1954. The wedding ring is estimated to get} between three hundred thousand and half a million. The platinum ring is set with a total of thirty-five baguette-cut diamonds and is going to be part of the Icons of Hollywood collection.

The platinum eternity diamond ring belonging to the late actress Marilyn Monroe will be up for auction in December in Los Angeles. The private civil wedding was performed at the City Hall in San Francisco on January 14, 1954. Even though they parted ways within the year of the wedding, DiMaggio always was an essential part of Monroe’s life and planned her funeral in August 1962. He continued sending roses to her grave site 3 times per week for over 20 years. Monroe suddenly died at a young age of thirty-six in 1962 whereas Joe DiMaggio passed away at eighty four in 1999.

The collection also includes various other items belonging to Monroe. An original nude painting of Monroe by artist Earl Moran is also up for auction. This original painting features a young Marilyn Monroe from her modeling days between 1948 to 1949. One more famed piece displayed in this auction that will sell for millions. The red ruby slippers worn in the 1939 movie Wizard of Oz by Judy Garland starring as Dorothy will also join other rare items in this auction. They are expected to be purchased for a minimum of two million dollars to 3 million dollars.
