Better Concerts and Music

One day at last summer my wife and I invited some friends and relatives to joint our small BBQ gathering at our small yet beautiful backyard.   My pretty wife was busy with the grill, the Cuisinart CGG180 gas-grill and I was also busy taking pictures of everyone when my son suddenly gave me a question.  “Where is the best place in the world to take picture?” 

Although he looks ingenuous, his question made me silent for a while in front of everyone but after that I told him there are so many beautiful locations throughout the planet where we can take a picture at.   I also stressed that almost every country in the world have their great places and breathtaking views to be used as photo location.  At the end I said to him, an ordinary place like a market, an old building, a bridge, a news kiosk, even a dying tree can also looks great in a picture.

After having the dinner I deliberately grab him, join him to the sofa and showed my photo collections, the very best of mine, and explained to him how I got them.   Opening the exhibition I showed the greatest collections of mine, taken in Tibet.  The scene was at a traditional equestrian festival in Lhasa, showing the excitement of the target-shooting event and by the colorful costumes of the nomads.  What made me amazed, until now, one of my pictures caught the arrow at the exact instant the archer released it –so sharp and in good position.

Next I showed him beautiful pictures collection I took when I rode down the Li River in Guilin, China with a boat owned by a local fisherman.   But what make my son opened his mouth was the next series of photo taken in a peasant neighborhood of Ankara, Turkey.   At that time I spotted a little boy in the doorway then I stopped to strike up a conversation before I took his picture.

I knew my son was so excited to hear my story, as well as looking at the pictures.  Before stepping into the bed he asked, “so when will I start making picture, dad?”

At the moment he asked me that question I was more than hundred percent ready to hear his question so I calmly answered, “pretty soon, son.”

I did not make a boast.  To tell you the truth, one of the reasons I made up my mind to buy the new Nikon 1 J1 is to make my son easy when he wants to learn how to use a camera.  Whenever I want to print-out the picture, I can simply insert the memory card into my all-in-one printer, the Epson WorkForce 840.
