The first thing to note is that Arundel is a market town and civil parish in the south downs of West Sussex within the south of England. It is famous for its Sussex cottages which is one of the main reasons people visit the town.

Television

There have actually been a fair number of television shows shot on the set of Arundel castle and one of them is the 1988 episode of Doctor Who named Silver Nemesis as the castle of Arundel was depicted as being Windsor castle. In this episode the Doctor and Ace visit England in 1988 in which a group of rival factions, Cybermen, Nazis and a sorceress named Lady Peninforte are all trying to gain control of statue made of living metal. Any fan will of course know that the Cybermen are one of the Doctor’s greatest enemies. The castle has also actually been used in various other programmes such as MacGyver and The Madness Of King George.

Tours

You can of course go on a tour of the castle itself and this is well worth doing if you are into your history as the castle tour really is very fantastic indeed. Taking a tour here does not cost too much money either and the castle is open for banquets and various other things during the course of the year and they are all great fun.

Plays

On top of all of this you will find that you can catch a play on the outside of the castle on various dates of the year and these are usually Shakespeare plays, they can be a real laugh during the summer seasons and the best ones are performed then.

Well like the title suggest this is a bit of a strange one to stay in but there are many places you can look to stay in one. Many of the best ones are found in France and even have their own swimming pool. So many of the windmills out there that you can stay in date all the way back to the 17th century, perfect for history lovers.

Loch Ness

Yes, there are many places around the lake that you can stay and once again they date back from many centuries ago. They have of course all been updated now and there are many additional features to these hotels. Tennis courts, golf courses and cricket pitches are available. There are tours that go across the lake, is the Loch Ness Monster really made up?

A Yurt

This has to be the most unique one on the list simply because when you stay in them it is amazing to see just how much can be sustained from the area around it. Streams provide the water, solar power provides the heating and you provide the food by hitting the streams with your fishing gear and hunting down that delicious dinner. Yurts are actually not rare at all but finding one to stay in isn’t going to be easy, the best place to look is likely to be Portugal but be warned most of them are in the middle of nowhere.

So whether you love the smell of compost from a cottage or love going away to strange places, there is always a holiday available to you.

There do seem to be many holiday locations out there to choose from and it really does depend on what you like to do. At the other end of the argument there are places that should not be ventured into, especially if you are thinking of going in alone.

A Hostel

Seen the movies, do you know what can happen if you stay in a hostel. You need to look out for the early signs, two European women who look pretty awesome will appear to be a bit flirtatious this is way too good to be true. These very nice looking ladies are only in it for the money they get from leading you to the murder location. At least you get a bit of a treat from them first though right? If some of your friends start to go missing halfway through the stay, get the hell out of there!

Cottages

Just kidnapped your boss’s daughter and trying to get money from him right? Wrong. If you let this carry on you will end up on a nutters farm where all of the people will die around you and you will end up being eaten alive by the carnivorous family of the killer. So all in all you will find your body decomposing in the lovely farm topsoil and mushroom compost suppliers in no time at all!

Weird Apartments

Okay do not ever turn into a building that has a broken sign saying vacancy as this is sure to land you in trouble. You find a tape that shows many people getting killed in the same room you are in, is this special effects or murder! The best thing to do here is get out as fast as you can.
