My Greek Play Story

Earlier today my teacher decided to assign a group project consisting of making a play and acting it out. The group I’m in includes Linda, Bill, and Frank. Linda’s dad had some left over Greek costumes so we thought it would be a good idea to create a Greek play. One of the costumes has a red stain on it, but it is fine because we think we can pass it off as blood. The costume is a soldier costume so blood will fit in fine with the theme of the costume and the play.

The play only needs to be five minutes long, but that is still a lot of lines to memorize. The play we are writing is going to consist of a small battle so that we can spend some of the time doing battle rather than talking, this will cut down on our lines.

Linda’s dad has given us permission to use his set of four Greek armors that consist of breast plates and Greek helmets. He has some weapons to go along with them, but will not let us use them. Linda’s dad does not think the school will let us into the building with sharp dangerous looking weapons. The use of old paper towel rolls will be employed in an effort to make safe swords to spar with. The paper towels rolls will need to be painted so that they look a little more authentic. I don’t think the teacher will like it if we just jab at each other with paper towel rolls.

We’re going to make betrayal the theme of our play. The play will start with one warrior abandoning a battle and three comrades attempting to stop him. The actors will start to argue before eventually doing combat with each other. During the battle the main character will have his Greek helmet knocked off of his head.

Upon the helmet hitting the ground, the actors will begin to talk once more. The chasers will plead with the betrayer to rejoin the army so they can end the battle. The betrayer will not do this due to his moral principles. In the end they will kill him and the play will be deemed a tragedy. We all agree that a tragedy will be the best kind of play because it will add a lot of intense emotion to the story line. I’m hoping that all of our planning will get us a good grade.

Mastering Other Kinds Of Poker Games Apart From Texas Hold’em

For those who prefer action, Omaha or Omaha Hi/Low is a great game. Omaha is played almost in the same manner as Texas Hold’em, the difference being that the player receives 4 hole cards instead of 2. With the 2 additional cards, the possibility of getting a best hand increases. The existence of Hi/Low versions in these games give them more appeal. The stakes get higher when the person who has hit bets like mad to wipe out the chasers.

Though Texas Hold’em gets more attention, Omaha or Omaha Hi/Low is much better when it comes to action. It is played almost identically to Hold’em except that the player receives 4 hole cards instead of 2. The additional 2 cards almost assure that the best hand available is out there somewhere. The existence of Hi/Low versions in these games give them more appeal. The stakes get higher when the person who has hit bets like mad to wipe out the chasers.

Different strategies are required for these varieties of poker games if you want to participate in games where you can scoop the pot. Scoop the pot means to win both the Hi and the Low hands versus only having one dimension of the pot covered. The variables and the 4 hole cards ensure that there is a lot of money to be won.
Also remember that it rarely does any harm to use a valuable set of poker tools or study a few of the best poker books!

While there are many different types of poker games to choose from, an old favorite is 7 card stud. It comes with both Hi and Low versions. 2 cards are given face down and one face up. After a round of betting, each participant gets another card face up. This is repeated until all players in the hand have 2 down card and 4 up cards. After this stage of receiving the last down card, what happens is the final betting round.

The difference between the other varied types of Poker games like Omaha and Holdem Poker Stud is that Holdem Poker Stud is not a chaser’s game. If you cannot succeed in creating a good hand by the first round of betting and on getting the second up card, you have to give up. If you do not do that, you will lose. As it is necessary to keep in mind all the cards that have been dealt so far, this game requires brainpower too. You sure don’t want to be looking for a 10 when all of them have already been folded on board. Pay attention and keep track of the cards on the board.

Another variation on 7 is Razz, a different type of poker game appropriate for people with bad luck. You stand to gain if you have a very bad hand. Unlike other games where having A-2-3-4-6-7-8 will have you banging your head, in Razz it is a dream hand. It is played in the same manner as 7 stud, you only need the lowest ranked hand to emerge a winner. As in regular stud, only 5 cards play.

Triple Draw is one more poker game which is becoming popular. It is filled with action and amusement. If you play it properly, it can earn you lots of money. People play this game at lower stakes for pure pleasure. This game is like another version of Razz using a 5 card draw model. The players are given 5 cards and a round of betting takes place. You may throw away the cards you don’t want but see that you have the worst possible hand. 2-3-4-5-7 is a big thing for standard Triple Draw. After the first draw has been completed, there is another round of betting and then another discard round. Showdown occurs after a third draw followed by a round of betting. You do not need any pairs, flushes or straights. For scooping the pot only the most useless cards are necessary.
