How Did The Apprentice Final Go?
Last night the winner of the 2010 Apprentice series was announced. The two finalists, Stella and Chris were regarded by sir Allan as the two most worthy challengers thus far and went head to head last night to compete for the grand prize of a £100,000 a year job with the savvy businessman himself. The two contestants in the final showdown were joined by people that were fired in previous weeks by Sir Allan as the once bitter rivals united in a cause to help their captain win the final.
The final task consisted of a brief that dictated contestants should come up with their own brand of new alcoholic drink. While this may sound like a bit of fun, and a task that would involve much boozy research at the pub, the teams found it soberingly challenging as they attempted to come up with a unique brand.
Car leasing deals were the last thing on contestants minds as Chris and his team pioneered a new pomegranate liquor in a triangular bottle called Prism, a drink purported to be for ‘all sides of you’. Meanwhile Stella’s group pushed through the idea of Urbon, a bourbon drink for a young, urban market.
Each team filmed an advert, which didn’t quite have the budget of an advert persuading you tolease vansboth ads were good in their own right and satisfied the brief. In addition to this, and perhaps most daunting, the captains had to make a presentation to a room full of industry experts who then questioned them on their decisions.
Both teams did an excellent job by Sir Allan’s admission and he had a difficulty choice in making a distinction between the two candidate’s skill levels. While he said Chris lacked experience, like people who buy people carriers don’t have much experience in buying cars, he certainly saw his potential. Stella won through in the end however, Sir Allan electing to play it safe with her ferocious work rate and wealth of experience.
